In practice it means that we’ll help our shoppers check for product availability and offer advice on items that match, or we’ll come over for a mobile checkout when queues are forming. These are just some examples in which the Companion is a massive help. With it we might ask coworkers to find specific sizes in the back, while we stay with our customer, or display a QR code so they can sign up to our loyalty programme on their own devices. At the end of the day, what the Companion does is allow us to really connect with our customers.

Store associates aren’t just the face of Scotch & Soda, they form the backbone of our stores. While we’re there for every customer that needs us, we still have to make sure that everything else that goes on in the store runs just as smooth. Whether it’s by performing stock checks or unpacking incoming shipments: all the things that go on in the background are managed by the Companion app. What really helps is that we can check which tasks are actually time-sensitive, so we can always ensure those get done while still giving priority to our shoppers.
