From doing cycle counts, taking in new shipments, to putting together Ship-from-Store orders, there’s a lot of things coming towards us on a daily basis. Use of the Companion app has had the biggest impact on the lives of our associates, giving a welcome degree of predictability to what’s expected each day and making the execution of each task easier in itself. It allows us to focus on what’s most important: helping our customers find meaningful moments in their daily routines.
We prioritize helping our customers where we can. This is where the Companion really shines. By giving insight into our customer’s shopping history we can see what they like and where they usually shop. It allows us to give advice that really fits. We don’t even have to leave our customer when we need to find something: we use runner tasks to signal our coworkers what the customer needs. And once we’ve helped our customer with everything to their heart’s content, we can checkout straightaway: with Tap to Pay on iPhone the customer is done in seconds.

Having the Companion has made everything easier. Companion keeps track of our in-store logistics, and even lets us assign tasks to specific coworkers, making it easy to prioritize. Even our newest colleagues can start right off the bat, without the need for constant supervision. If there’s any task, or part of it, someone’s not able or supposed to do, the App will ask for validation by the right coworker.
We keep a strict line between feature code, our back-end technology and the cloud vendors we use, meaning we can upgrade to the latest technology the market has to offer as we go. We believe in Moore’s law as a service.
